Our founder, Tom McDermott-Walshe, has many years of experience in the framing and display industry. His flagship company, Fine Framers, operates from large retail space at the Wexford Road Business Park in Carlow. He is now excited to bring all those years of expertise to the supply and fitting of the vibrant and versatile medium of Fabric Light Boxes – a surefire way to make any message stand out and get noticed.
Tom saw the potential of Fabric Light Boxes at a major trade show he attended in January 2015 in the USA. Fabric Light Boxes were already being widely used there in retail space, walkways in shopping malls, and also in huge public spaces such as airports, and their benefits had long been recognised.
Tom was keen to also bring those benefits to Ireland. On his return home, he began planning how to do just that. He negotiated with several potential suppliers before entering into a deal to become exclusive Irish partners of one of the world’s leading manufacturers of the framing material used, Efka LED Frames in The Netherlands.
The raw material used is now produced there before being shipped to our workshop in Carlow, where our specialist team produces top-quality frames to your exact specifications – no matter how large or small a size you need.
Equally important is the quality of the printed fabric. This is something Tom was very aware of through so many years of being involved in framing paintings, photographs, and more. Again, a number of potential suppliers were considered, but Tom decided in then end to create his own team of expert printers. He felt this was the best way to guarantee a top-quality product with high-resolution and vibrant colour.
